Matt & CricketA Day In The Life April 16 Where in the World is Cricket and Lily?Ah, the long awaited update. I am sorry that it has taken me this long to finally post something. I am sure that 90% of my time has been following Lily around picking up her stuff and messes. The other 10% has been spent in the snow. . I did plant some pansies at the first of March, which except for the ones the llamas have eaten and the cats have dug up are all still there and happy. We have had the addition of a few new litters of outdoorsies, although only one litter seems to have made it thus far. We have bigger critters around who sometimes take off with the little ones. Pot Pie has left the field in search of love. We hope to find her soon. However, another’s cow and calf have come to stay for a bit. Lily loves the animals. Lily has made many new discoveries over the past few months. Teeth a plenty have all shown up at once. She owns 8 toothbrushes and carries them all around the house. She is feeding herself or at least trying. If you try to help her before she tries then she is totally upset and big tears form. She is putting on her own shoes. We bought her some fake crocs at Wal-Mart which she loves and I love because she loves puddles. Easy clean up. I would say 1 time out of 10 she actually puts them on the correct feet. Most of the time she only keeps one of them on and waddles about. She is mastering stairs. Up and down. She is so proud of herself. She even claps when she does something. She loves her dolls. She will undress them, make me dress them and then she undresses them again. She tries to feed them, paint and trim their toenails too. (She uses a silver barrette that looks like nail clippers to give them a pedicure). She is a girlie girl in ways. She likes her toenails painted, she has to put on her necklace when we leave and get her purse and her keys. Oh, and her cell phone. When we get in the car she “calls” her daddy to tell him we are going out. I think we are down to one nap a day in the afternoon. This doesn’t fly well with me as I need a nappy nap or me time. Or at least time to clean up and just sit in a clean room. But I still had time to take photos and here they are: Lily and Matty and their beards Lily and her new ride I think she looks totally different and quite plain without her little ears. Her molars look like she has been eating those little marshmallows. Getting ready for Grandpa’s birthday party. We bought Lily her own camera so ours wouldn’t get hurt. The bow on her head only last moments. If you tell her she looks pretty she knows something is in her hair and her hand zips to the top of her head and rips it out! Lily is quite a little nut. She loves being outside and running around. She loves rocks too! She throws them in the stream, in the puddles, and always brings in a handful which some how always end up under my bare feet. We live on a farm. We are less than 3 miles from “downtown” Kaysville and Layton. It is nice as we don’t have a lot of traffic to worry about. Many families will walk, ride bikes, jog, and bring their dogs down here. We even have a couple of people who ride their horses. Lily loves that. She was able to pet one! We have 3 llamas that are in the field behind and to the side of our house. I am thrilled that Lily is being raised around animals. You think that they wouldn’t really catch her attention when we are at the zoo or the pet store, but she loves them. One of the nice days last week we took Lily to Barnes Park. We had to take off her necklaces before hand, but she needed to take her purse. She had a wonderful time on the slide, looking at the seagulls, and watching all the other little kids. I didn’t realize how popular her name was until mom’s started calling out “Lily”. Lily wasn’t too bothered by it and she was the only dark haired Lily there. Maybe it is time we started calling her Clementine. Easter morning was a bit rough getting up. We went to Matty’s dad’s and step-mom’s for brunch. It was mighty tasty. Lily ate 2 Jell-o jiggler eggs, a banana, a link of sausage, and whatever else she could get in her mouth. The Easter bunny brought Lily her own litter of kitties. But she still didn’t give up her older ones! We then came home from brunch took a nap and went to dinner up at my folks. Lily was all rested and ready to eat her ham, peas and black olives, which she put on her fingers first! For the past week I have been dying. I have had the head cold from outer darkness and a sore throat that will not stop. So I went to the doctor. Lily came too. Earlier that day she had decided to add to her romper outfit. The diaper cover around her knees stayed on for hours. She was able to get them pulled to just over her knees but no further. Again, one shoe and on the wrong foot. Notice the pearls as I guess it was a special deal to go throw the bread out for the birds! This is the outfit she later wore to the doctor’s office, minus the bread and the diaper cover. I did put her shoes on the correct feet and she brought her keys and purse. January 22 All I can say is Lily NO!This is Lily all set for the Sugar Bowl, including a face full of chocolate to start the celebration! A couple of days after Christmas Matty found out what it was like to have food poisoning. He didn't like it very much. After that he was hit with the hella cold. He didn't fweel vweery well. During this time he found that he hadn't shaved in a bit and what a great time to grow a beard, much to my dismay. Lily on the other hand wanting to be a grown up created a beard of frosting, chocolate of course! This is Lily Cow. Really her name is Lily and we love her too! We bought the little chair for Lily Clementine as she wants to be a big girl. We haven't found her little rocker yet. It actually was mine of sorts as it was given to me by my Grandma Harvey. I would always sit on it when I went to her house. I am excited to get it to Lily as she is a big girl now. We just don't know where it is at the moment. Lily has found that she loves to play with her dolls. We try not to call them her baby as that is the kitty. Sometimes we call them baby dolls just to make sure she knows the difference. I think she does. Christine gave me this ultra soft blanket for Christmas. I love it, but not as much as Lily loves the box. We have been looking for a crib or basket for her dolls to sleep in with no luck, unless I spent $30 on one. What the heck. $30 for a crib for a doll! So with the blankets we were able to make a crib that held all 3 babies and Lily and The WeeOne likes it too! The other day Lily would not leave her room until she was dressed..her way. This consisted of her putting her head through the arm of my t-shirt and wearing it about. It makes me laugh, but not as much as when she takes our underwear and uses it as her clothing for the day. A number of her activities cause us to respond with no or NO! Lily doesn't care for the word no and will become upset and the mere mention of it. Matty will just look at her and take that tone and her little mouth opens as wide as it can and the tongue curls and the wail begins! In a way it is kinda cute. Lily like to take her blanket and a kitty and curl up with dad in front of the tv before bed. He watches boring stuff like football and this helps her fall asleep. Her mom watches all the cool stuff that would keep her up. Actually, since she was teeny she has been able to fall asleep on Matty. Never on me. It is kind of her thing where we get her in her jammies and she hangs out with daddy. On days she is a bit restless we just put her into bed, but most nights she is with her daddy. December 28 Happy Holidays! This photo is just because Lily cracks us up. We have had the most incredible time with her this past year. It seems to just keep getting better. This is Lily's Thanksgiving dress. The hair accessory didn't even make it to the car! We went to Matty's mom's on Christmas Eve afternoon to spend some time with Grandma Elizabeth and to exchange gifts. Lily had a blast running all about. Grandma Elizabeth gave her markers which thankfully didn't leave marks anywhere. Lily did find the Top Ramen and loved pulling it out of the shelves and having daddy pick it up. Again, the hair accessory didn't make it to the car. This is Lily and her Uncle Joe. She loves Joe. It takes her no time to "get used to" him before he can hold her. This is Uncle Jim and Aunt Charity. Charity is a bit nervous about Lily and the skittles. Little does Charity know that this is the longest time Lily has stayed clean. Aunt Charity gave Lily an outfit with kitties on it, which you know Lily loves. She also gave her a Cabbage Patch doll. This saved us because Lily is in a dolly mode and we (bad parent situation #468) didn't get her one doll. Charity rocks! Lily cracks me up. She LOVES this rug. In fact we bought a smaller version and she likes it but not the way she LOVES the one at Grandpa John's and Grandmama Victoria's. LOVES it! We didn't take one photo of her opening gifts ( I am sure that is another bad parent situation) or at my folks where we went for dinner after brunch at Matty's dad's. She did find the piano at my folks and every time she played a note she would giggle. We hope everyone had a wonderful time. Oh, Matty had food poisoning all day yesterday. I must say he is fully recovered and celebrated with the largest piece of Prime Rib. December 18 If I morph I morph into someone who is hot!Talking about Cricket Oh My!
I think it is the nose that ties me to Brzezinski!
Talking about Matty's TurnMay God bless and keep you always, May your wishes all come true, May you always do for others And let others do for you. May you build a ladder to the stars And climb on every rung, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young. May you grow up to be righteous, May you grow up to be true, May you always know the truth And see the lights surrounding you. May you always be courageous, Stand upright and be strong, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young. May your hands always be busy, May your feet always be swift, May you have a strong foundation When the winds of changes shift. May your heart always be joyful, May your song always be sung, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young. |
